My Exciting Journey: Building The Perfect Home Recording Booth For Voice Overs-Part Five (More Adhesive & Plasterboard Mayhem)
After lugging 68kg of plasterboard through the house and dodging Amazon’s delivery letdown, I’ve finally built the walls of my dream recording booth: two thick layers ready for sanding and paint. Next: wrestling with textured ceilings, budgeting for carpet, and debating whether to prime or wallpaper before going bold with orange. It’s messy, expensive, and full of grit, but this booth is slowly becoming the soundproof sanctuary I always envisioned.

My Exciting Journey: Building The Perfect Home Recording Booth For Voice Overs-Part Four (Adhesive & Mayhem)
This week, the booth build escalated: plasterboard dust showers, sheep’s wool insulation, and enough adhesive spray to stick me to the wall if I wasn’t careful. I tackled stubborn paint, filled every rogue hole, and muscled through dB Soundboard panels with a Stanley knife and sheer determination. With acoustic plasterboard and sealant now in play, the space is starting to look, and sound, like something truly special.

My Exciting Journey: Building The Perfect Home Recording Booth For Voice Overs-Part Three (Chaotic Destruction)
There’s a strange comfort in tearing things apart, especially when you know what’s coming next. This week was a symphony of creaking floorboards, stripped paint, and plasterboard battles. Progress wasn’t pretty, but it was real. With every rip and scrape, the future studio comes closer into focus and if nothing else, I’m now on first-name terms with every aisle in B&Q.
